Achieving Sustainability : Sustainable Development Goals

Enviroo’s vision and mission aims address a number of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. These include:

UNSDG Goal 8

‘Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all’. Enviroo aims to have a social impact and by placing a facility in prisons we will be providing decent work for prisoners and hope this will help in rehabilitation.

UNSDG Goal 12

‘Responsible consumption and production’. ‘Sustainable consumption and production is about promoting resource and energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all.’ This goal promotes the idea of ‘do more and better with less’ which, using a circular economy, Enviroo will achieve in its projects.

UNSDG Goal 13

‘Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts’ ‘Affordable, scalable solutions are now available to enable countries to leapfrog to cleaner, more resilient economies’. Enviroo is addressing this goal by reimagining the recycling industry and diverting plastic waste away from landfill and our oceans.

UNSDG Goal 14

‘Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources’ ‘There is a continuous deterioration of coastal waters owing to pollution and ocean acidification is having an adversarial effect on the functioning of ecosystems and biodiversity.’ This goal addresses the destruction of our oceans and the one most damaging material for our oceans is single-use plastic. There are now 500 times more pieces of microplastic in the sea than there are stars in our galaxy, and by 2050 fishermen will be more likely to catch plastic than fish. Enviroo aims to reduce single-use plastic consumption by recycling PET plastics into new products, rather than them being dumped on our land and in our oceans.
