Our Locations

Enviroo identifies and assesses prospective locations and delivery models for future recycling infrastructure. We undertake early-stage feasibility analysis, stakeholder engagement, and systems development to reduce risk and enable later-stage delivery by appropriately financed projects and operating partners.

Enviroo starts its recycling ambitions in the North West of England at Peel L&P Environmental’s Protos Park which will bring together a strategic cluster of energy, innovation and industry. Where relevant, Enviroo engages with industrial partners and local stakeholders to evaluate feedstock, logistics, and operational requirements for future projects. Any construction, asset ownership, and operations are undertaken by separately financed entities and delivery partners.

Protos will be the UK’s first ‘Plastic Park’ which will contribute to the recycling of the 4.9 million tonnes of plastic waste generated in the UK each year, preventing it ending up in landfill, being exported overseas or dumped in the ocean.

According to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) the North West England waste recycling rate has declined between 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 and only 13 of its 43 authorities are showing an increase of 0.1 percentage point or more in the recycling rate in 2017/18. This highlights the urgency for change in the region and across the country.
